This time the Jackdaw team have tried their hand at interview techniques.  The task was simple: ask the senior management at Monks' Dyke Technology College some tough, difficult questions - well, OK, not really.  But we still had a great time!
RJCK Reporters interview Senior Management of the College

Do you like working here  and if so, why ?
Yes, because lots of things happen and it is never straightforward. I love working with successful students.

What subject do you like best ?
Maths and Science

Were you a good student at school ?
Not particularly. I did all my work but got up to mischief too.

What was the most mischievous thing you did at school then ?
I locked my teacher in a cupboard

What made you want to become a teacher ?
I got bored in my previous job, moved house and then took up teacher training. I like teaching people.

What was your ambition when you were younger ?
To be a Policewoman, teacher or scientist.

March 12th, 2010

Recently,  Mrs Robinson’s Functional Skills group was treated to a sneak preview of the new Meridian Leisure Centre via a virtual tour of the facility. Most of the class is studying Construction at the Wolds College as well as other subjects at MDTC and students were fascinated to hear what Ian Dunton, the new manager (who has also been responsible for managing the Leisure Centre Project for the past months ) had to say about its construction, the problems with having to employ several different builders during construction and the campaign which was waged prior to its building to locate the centre elsewhere.

Monks’ Dyke students questioned him about costs, time, the facilities and opening times of the new centre. They also expressed a hope that the college would be able to take advantage of the new and improved swimming pool.
